This is the highlight of my trip to the Skeen family cabin. And it is every year. We hike not too far from the cabin to this random old hippie bus in the middle of the mountains. The cabin we stay at has no water or electricity. It really is in the middle of no where in the Rocky Mountains of Utah. We have to drive out miles and miles on dirt roads. How this random bus got out there, I will always wonder. It has remnants of a bed, a fridge, a sink, and other such things. Someone must have lived there at one point. I wonder what they were like. Crazy? Revolutionary? A hermit? A hippie? I really want to know the story behind bus number 14.

I absolutely LOVE the bus. :) I still run into real, old hippies every now and again, in the festival world, and they sure did some crazy stuff you'd be surprised. I've heard of like 6 people living in busses together and traveling the country!
your hippie bus photos are SO fun! i love it. my college boyfriend lived in a vw camper bus in the woods. it was pretty cool, but definitely not as pretty as those hippie buses!
What an awesome find! We have a camp in northern maine and sometimes when we are wandering in the woods we will come accross an old house or car... I always find them so interesting!

oh wow this is just my type of thing. Love that you go hiking and stay in a place with no electric, we stay in a lodge like that sometimes, it has the water coming out of a stream and gas lamps. no tv. no facebook. no blogs...(eeeeek) just good company and games nights :)
