Tootin' Tuesday: A Tag

I was tagged by the oh-so-wonderful blogger and photographer Bethany Sines.  I hope you swing by her blog (and stay a while) to enjoy her talent that she so gracefully shares.  She is a divine photographer and I have a feeling you'll eat up her scrumptious images.

This is the "Favorite Things" Tag.  I have too many favorite things.  So I'll just share the first things that come to my mind.

Vintage Treasures.
Fanciful Shoes.
Mystery and Change.
Photography.
Travel.
Reading & Writing
My husband, My family, My all.

I would pass on this thought provoking tag to:
Diana at Express-O

Also, Thank you
&
for the award.

BANG BANG BANG

NO Bangs.
Bangs.
NO Bangs.
Bangs.
NO Bangs.
Bangs.
No Bangs.
Bangs.

So what's your vote?  To have bangs or not to have bangs, that is the question.
I think bangs add something to my long boring brown hair.  Then again I can't really pull them back and I JUST grew them out long enough to fit behind my ear without sneaking back out from behind to tickle my nose.  Hmmm.  Quite the predicament.

No Bangs or Bangs?

Also, I wanted to thank some amazing bloggers for bestowing upon me some awards.  I am grateful for each one and flattered that someone would think of me!
 Thank you ladies.
Madeleine who blogs on fashion to books to eating healthy.  She is a fun and easy read.
Clare who displays fabulous images of her ventures and is an avid reader.
Marcie who is a gorgeous gal who blogs about her life.
Bree who blogs about fashion, her life, and her insights.
Style My Happiness a fashion blogger who also highlights books, home decor, and her life.

Check out these delightful blogs.  You wont be disappointed.

I want to pass this along to
Rosa (creative outfits everyday you wont want to miss)
Violetta (you must check out her divine creations)
Ken (an intern at Giant Robot Mag who dabbles in many areas)
Fe (a fashion muse who thinks for herself)
The Girl in the Purple Pants (a quirky writer who will make you laugh)
Lesly (If you love art, music, and home decor head on over)

With this award you must name five random things about yourself:

1.  I am a daydreamer.
2. I have been sky diving.
3. I am scared of swimming in mirky water.
4. I still literally have dreams of being a superhero (not sure what that is about).
5. I can't shuffle cards for the life of me.

SO grab this award, pass it on to those you love, and spill your guts on some fun facts about YOU!

You're It

I was tagged by my dear blogger friend Nabilah Hazirah from A Present For Everyone, an honest blog about life.  She writes beautifully and displays lovely pictures to match her lovely words.   Thanks for the tag Nabilah!

In this tag you answer 8 random Questions and then come up with your own 8 random questions to pass on to a few of your favorite blogs.  So here it goes!

1.What's the biggest misconception about you?
I am a smiley person and relatively happy.   For this reason, people think I don't get upset or "get mad".  This is definitely not true.  There is opposition in all things right?  I am a very emotional person and you can read me like a book!  When I am happy, you know.  When I am sad, you know.  When I am angry.... oh boy do you know.  Ha ha...  yeah I am working on that.
2. Black or Blue?
I definitely wear the color black more than I do blue.  I find myself being attracted to all colors of blue lately though.  I have been trying to figure out what it means.  I change favorite colors every few years and I think it corresponds with the changes in my life.
3. The Simpsons or Spongebob?

I think you meant "and" not "or".  And that would be a "yes please".
4. Your dream?
To be the best mom and wife I can be.
5. What's the movie you last cried to?
Oh man, I cry in every movie I swear.  The last one though would be My Sister's Keeper.
6. Describe your day in one word.
My word would be: "Sigh". Sigh of relief because I am going home to Utah today after four months of traveling.  Sigh of peace and disbelief because of the art I saw today.  Sigh of relax because I am sitting in the most comfortable chair.  Sigh because I am going to miss South America and all it's splendor.
7. Which place would you like to visit?

Nepal hands down.
8. Which Mr Men/Little Miss best describe you?

Sorry but I am not sure what this is asking.  Little help anyone?  I love the movie Little Miss Sunshine.  Does that count?

I want to pass this tag on to these lovely ladies:
Alycia at Crowley Party
Jo at Enough About You
Madi at Madi Chic
Julianne at Lace and Leather
Daisy at A Daisy Chain Dream
Gracie at Gracie Bella
Chantelle at Chai, Cinnamon, and Couture
Purple Deer
Mel at Peterbell and Tinkerpan
Tif at Tif Song

I want to know more about you!  Here are the eight questions I made just for you:
1. What band is your "go-to-band" while in the car?
2. What is your pet-peeve?
3. Who is your celebrity crush?
4. How would your friends describe you?
5. Where is the furthest place you have been?
6. What's the most important thing in a friendship to you?
7. If you could change your name what would it be?
8. Unibrow or mustache, if you had to have one?

3... 2... 1...

Iquitos in three pictures (the largest city in the Amazon Jungle).  More to come on the adventures around Iquitos like the floating village, an indigenous village, and the butterfly farm.  This place has so much to offer.
A building downtown built in the 1860's during the "rubber boom".
Houses built on stilts. The river rises a few meters during the rainy season.
Some of the giant bugs that lurk in shady places.

For more info on Iquitos go here.

Also, I wanted to thank a few bloggers for giving me some awards!

Mere from Idle Banter, an adorable fashion blog.

Thank You Thank You

Hello Hello.  My weekend advanture was quite lovely.  We went to Lambayaque and to the Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipan.  It is rated one of the top ten museums to travel to.  It's Peru's newest major museum.  The outside mirrors ancient pyramids and the inside levels mirror the levels in which the artifacts were excavated from the tomb of Sipan.  It is one of Peru's most important discoveries. It is about 1,700 years old and it's unbelieveable how well preserved the artifacts are.  The second picture is of ceramic pots found in the tomb full of offerings.  I wish I could have taken pictures of the jewelry or ceremonial artifacts but alas, cameras were not allowed.  We spent about three hours in the museum.  And the mesuem is filled with only one man's tomb (ganted about 20 other people were killed and burried with him...).

It was an incredible weekend.  After the museum we went to some pyramids which are currently being escavated.  The top picture is of me on the top of one of the 26 pyramids at this site in Tucume.  It was quite windy up there.

Enough about my weekend.  Let's start this week off right with some "thank you's" and some "congratulations".
and

Thank you for giving me awards the past little while.  I am so flattered and excited that people are reading and enjoying my blog!  That's just plain fabulous.

I am going to pass on the Sugar Doll Award to some delightful bloggers.  It comes with some guidelines though... Say seven things about yourself and pass it on to seven lovely ladies.

So about me....

1. I love wearing dresses because they are not constricting like pants and I feel beautifully feminine in them. (They are like sweatpants for me but prettier).
2.  I can watch a whole season of a show in a weekend (The Office Season Two was my first victim, or I it's, Christmas Beak '06 with my little sister).
.3. I am relatively quiet but I am fiery.
4. I worked at a Wilderness Therapy Program for two summers sleeping under the stars and hiking every day with young adults suffering from addiction.  Changed my life.
5. I adore Audrey Hepburn (bet you couldn't guess that).
6. I am a horrible speller
7.  I have a hard time pronouncing the words "toaster strudel", it often comes out "toashtel strudderl".  I now refuse to say it.  Do you have a word or a phrase that's hard to say?  Please say yes so I don't feel as dumb.

I'd like to pass this on to

4. Amy
7. Jesa

You girls are lovely.  Thanks for inspiring me. Be sure to check out these blogs.

A Bag and A Tag

HELLO BAG.
Sorry, but I’m gonna have to take you down.

The Innards of my purse.  You can tell a lot from a girl from the loot in her bag in which she keeps closely by her side.  It’s like a best friend.  It brings comfort when there is a dilemma, such as chapped lips or an emergent purchase of the perfect pants.  Where do you go first?  Your bag.  Then your real best friend (i.e. my husband).

Let’s explore.

Item A.
A camera.  And a sucky one at that.  This is not the one I use regularly (as you might have guessed since it was not in my hand at that moment…).  I have a trusty Cannon Camera.  Assumption from item:  I like to capture the moment.  I am a tourist.  Or I am a creepy people watcher. Maybe both.

Item B.
Sun Glasses.  Slightly retro.   I can’t get over that look.  And I can’t leave my doorstep in Peru without them.   The sun shines bright near the equator.  Assumption: I’m not a hermit and I like being in the sun.  Or maybe, I am a hermit and I hate the sun and I hide behind them.  Sunglasses are a tricky one to interpret.

Item C.
Coupons and Cards.  Pita Pit, Purple Turtle, Jamba Juice, and Borders.  There are so many assumptions here…  Eat your heart out.  And I do with discounts from my cards.  So…. lover of food and discounts.   Thrifty.  Or can’t say no to free square paper products to clutter my bag.

Item D.
Make Up. I’m a girl.  Safe assumption here.

Item E.
Buttons.  Who knows how long those have been in there.  Assumption:  shopper, sewer, likes the color grey.  And too lazy to ever take them out of her purse.

Item Z:
Lotion.  Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel.  Assumption: Loves Christmas and loves to saver that rich smell that comes once a year.  And has dry hands.   Boo.

That’s enough for me.  I hope you learned what you wanted to about me.  Even if you didn’t want to know, you made it this far in the read so ha.

Thanks Under Lock and Key for the Tag!  This was a juicy one.  Hmm…. I want a Jamba.
