No really, you must hear this. I am sure you have heard the song Lisztomania by Phoenix. I got a little emotional while watching this. It gave me the chills. I can't put my finger on why it is so moving but watch for yourself and maybe you'll understand. These children are so talented! Let me know what you think.

Do yourself a favor and listen to {Tennis}. This indie band is one I can't stop listening to. The song "Marathon" is a single released November 2010. I truly enjoy downloading new music.  I downright crave it at times.  I downloaded a plethora of new music this last week and I want to share five bands that stood out to me.  You can download songs for free at {RCRD LBL}, which is where I go for free new music.  They have all types of genres for you to choose from.  Many up-and-coming artists and some more established artists.  Anyways, let me present to you the artists that have struck a chord with me, in a very good way.

She & Him Concert

I had the pleasure of seeing She & Him tonight at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. They sound even better live. Zoey was so cute in (of course) a little plaid vintage dress jumping up and down while playing the tamberine. I adore Zoey's style, acting, and voice. M. Ward also sang on his lonesome. It was a treat. Did I mention it was for free? Because I meant to. It was for the Twilight Concert Series put on the Salt Lake City Arts Council. Thank you SLC!

The Twilight Concert Series (Which has nothing to do with sparkly vampires): a free concert 
series put on by Salt Lake City Art Council starts in one month! July 8th for be exact. You 
can see the summer line up {HERE}, but beware if you look at it you will start drooling and 
wishing (if you don't) that you lived near Salt Lake City, Utah. You can stay with me, come 
visit, I don't mind.

The first bands up are Modest Mouse and Avi Buffalo. I chose the a video by Avi Buffalo so 
you can hear something new. If you haven't heard Modest Mouse, well, then that's just crazy.

I have posted on Uzi & Ari before, but I just love their music so. 

Based in SLC, UT this band has been compared to Thom Yorke and Postal Service.

My favorite album is their second one, It's Freezing Out 2007.

Why Don't You Love Me?

I was surprised by this video in all honesty.  I like the vintage quality of it and how emotional she gets.  Of course her body (in my opinion) in exposed too much for my liking as in all her videos.  I do like Beyonce, though she doesn't fit my genre of music.  I dare say almost everyone likes Beyonce.  Even those that claims they don't.  I know you get her lyrics stuck in your head don't deny it.  Like when you are looking for the cereal in the morning and you're like "where is the darn thing!" and your roommate says "to the left!" Then you have that darn song stuck in your head the whole day "to the left to the left".  You know it's happened. Don't deny it.

This was filmed in Peru on a mountain top. Beautiful.  Enjoy this video and the sounds of the Dirty Projectors. They have some amazing harmony going on between the three females and three males in the group.


I made my journey on the 16 hour bus ride, which turned into a 20 hours, to Tarapoto, where we stayed at a hostal for the night. We got up at 3:30Am to make our boat ride from Yurimaguas to Iquitos. Tarapoto was beautiful and an expected stop for us. We enjoyed the artisan market, where I bought even more feather earrings! We went to a gorgeous waterfall and had a refreshing swim. We also visited a lovely little laguna where I met a very friendly monkey. He got a little too friendly and ended up licking my shoulder profusely and I had to pry him off of me.


The boat ride was gratifying and humbling. We met some fabulous friends from all over the world. There is so much to say but I need to think about how and what to share. So I leave you with this and stay tuned for more details and pictures. I am off to the zoo (to hopefully hold a sloth) and to get some descent grub.
