I am just in love with this lovely lady's hair. I was shopping around etsy when I stumbled this gorgeous gal with the oh-so-classic red hair/ green dress combo. You can find a fabulous tutorial on this bow hair style {here}. Too bold or just enough? 

The Power of Hana

I love my new flatiron. I got a chi straightener from misikko.com. Ah-mazing.  I decided to do an experiment on my mom's hair since, well, her hair is crazy. You can see in the "before" pictures her hair has a lot of natural body to it.  Her hair has been air-dried and it is completely natural. 

I used the HANA shine serum on my mother's hair and it added the shine it needed. Considering how thick and wild my mom's hair is it was amazing to see how fast the flatiron worked on her hair.  Read more about HANA products and their high-quality ceramic hair products {here}.

When I was younger and would stray off in stores I could always find my mom by looking for her hair. Thick, long, and beautiful.  Whatever type of hair you have, you want to treat it right.  Using a ceramic straightener  minimizes the damage o your hair, while the ceramic plates last longer than the typical aluminum plats which can peel or scratch.

How-To: 40's Victory Rolls

Fall is for sweaters.  And I am a sweater girl, so you can imagine how this photo shoot made me feel.  If you can't, I'll go ahead and tell you: happy.  The photos above are from a collection titled "Sweater Girl" by indie photographer Natalie Neal.  Make-up and hair was done by a friend of mine, Milo McDonald.  How gorgeous are those 40's "victory rolls" in her hair (like pictured in the last photo)?  Refinery29 did a feature on the hair pictured in this shoot and to find out how to do it on your own fabulous locks: go {here} for the know-how.  Photos were taken in the good city of Provo, UT.  I am so proud.

Wednesday Wish- List: Owlie Marie

I wanted to share with you this new little store on etsy called Owlie Marie.  They make the loveliest bow headbands all made from vintage fabrics. I am all about the three R's: reduce, reuse, recycle.  Owlie Marie supports this by using old vintage fabrics and hand-making these charming headbands. Whimsical Braided Hair

Braided hair represents warmer weather to me.  It's been seen everywhere from toddlers to my mirror to the red carpet to the runway.  Braids make an up-do or a down-do more interesting yet it's one of the oldest tricks in the book.  Here are how these lovely ladies sported the classic braid:
