Remember when I mentioned I would be celebrating Chinese New Years with some friends? We had a lovely time. We ate an array of chinese food, played some games, and we also flew chinese lanterns. As we sent our lanterns into the sky I mentioned that someone would most likely think they were aliens.
This morning I found {this article} in the news about mysterious lights over Lehi, UT (where we sent the lanterns flying). A few people video taped the "mysterious lights" and posted them on youtube as possible UFO's. See one video {here}. Some even called the police! Who knows, maybe there were aliens up there in the sky that night. They could have been celebrating Chinese New Years too. An unsolved mystery, one may call it.

Lovely, like the last disney movie.
Ah, sounds mystical;-)
i love lanterns! they were launching some here too and i tried to photograph them but you could just see little specks of light. yours are beautiful!!
These lanterns have been getting bad press over here as theycome down in fields and the wire in them is dangerous for the animals :(, they have also got caught in trees in the summer and caught fire :0! x
i've never celebrated chinese new year but if it involves eating chinese food, i think i could handle it!
That sounds like fun, and crazy that people thought your lanterns were UFOs! Definitely a good story to tell.

They look like so much fun!!!
Oh my goodness! That is super hilarious!! LOVE IT!
THAT'S what that is!!! when mark and i were at the igloo, we went outside and something like that was floating in the air and we were so mystified!! how cool!
great idea!
next times you can write your dreams on the ballon and let it fly ;D
hehe I skimmed through the article and it seems people want to believe we are not alone in this universe. I read the last paragraph about how someone called 911 because they were worried that someone could have an accident while driving and looking up at the sky, but what would the cops be able to do? LOL
I also celebrated Chinese New Year at a friend's house. We didn't fly lanterns, but we did have some amazing authentic Chinese food!
Hope you're having a lovely week!

i've been wanting to light those up over the ocean for quite sometime! where did you find them?!
hilarious that someone thought they were something else. :)
Sounds like so much fun! Lovely blog by the way.
First, how great that you celebrated the Chinese New Year! And secondly..that's crazy about the aliens. very funny!
haha seriously? I remember hearing about this on the news. That's hilarious. Though for the sake of me liking to think that there ARE aliens, I'm just going to keep pretending it was a UFO.
