How To-esday: Finding Thrift Stores

When visiting a new place, people tend to have the desire to bring a piece of it home with them.  Some travelers do this by collecting trinkets like spoons or shot glasses with the town/city name on it.  As for me, I like to find a vintage treasure from the town.  I get more use out of a vintage dress or scarf and I love the feeling that I am wearing something with a great story behind it.  For this reason, I am absolutely obsessed with this site The Thrift Shopper.  This little gadget generates the thrift stores of the area you seek via zip code. It even gives you a rating and shoppers review on each store.

This summer I plan on taking a two week road trip across the north-west and up into Canada and back down through California.  I will be using The Thrift Shopper to help me get my souvenir-thrift-fix while traveling.  {If you missed my guest post on thrifting how-to's stop by Style'n to have a good read}.

boo, it's only for the US :( Don't know if they're something liek that for Canada - a visit to a new town isn't complete without some vintage shopping!

I'm definitely the same way, I have to see what vintage hunting is like in other cities.

Google Maps is an amazing way for folks to find thrift store internationally.
