Loco for Local Issue No 1

Euro Treasures is gracefully starting off my new "Loco for Local" Series!  I often drive by Euro  Treasures on my way to work, it is right off the 600 South Exit in Salt Lake City, UT.  I am very fond of antiques and the thought of galavanting through a whole warehouse full gave me an adrenalin rush {nerd alert!}.  Euro Treasures did not disappoint.  It has the largest collection of European Antiques ever sold! Most of their "treasures" date back to the 1600's and 1700's but they have a few dated back to the 1500's and some from as late as the 1930's.  The warehouse is stacked with furniture, paintings, books, and other housewares from hundreds of years ago.  It would be the perfect place to play hide-and-go seek with it's nooks and crannies, just a thought.

The furniture is mainly from the John Matson Collection, who was the biggest dealer in Northern England.  Mr. Matson was a bit of a hoarder.  After he passed away Scott Evans and his crew took 2.5 years and millions of dollars to get over 40,000 items from Liverpool, England to Salt Lake City, Utah.  The seven story building in Liverpool was filled to the brim, wall to wall, ceiling to ceiling with antiques.      Mr. Matson's house was also filled to the brim with antique furniture as well.  So full that his floors were literally bowing under the weight of it all.  Euro Treasures has been in Salt Lake City for the last 30 years.  I would highly recommend taking an afternoon to be awestruck by the majestic antique furniture. Wear some layers though if you go in the winter!  The warehouse is a bit brisk.
